My husband said, and I quote, “This is one of your best creations so far!” It made my day! I am very much a meat person and if I tell you that after taking the first bite, not only did I not miss meat but I developed a strong liking towards humble and Plain Jane tofu, would you believe me?
This recipe restored my faith in tofu and reassured me that it is actually very much feasible to make great tasting tofu recipes. Tofu is like a plain canvas and the herbs, spices and condiments you use are colours that eventually turns it into a beautiful painting …….. a tasty beautiful painting 🙂
I used leftover Tandoori-Style Tofu Tikka from my fridge for this recipe, which made this whole thing real quick. If you do not have any leftovers, not to worry. Just use the ingredients from my Tandoori-Style Tofu Tikka recipe and mix it in with the mashed tofu and fry it with the onions and bell peppers for 5 – 8 minutes or until the mixture is a bit dry and no longer sloppy. Simple fix. Right?
Meaty and perfectly spiced tofu on a light and flaky bed of pastry and ohhh myyy goodnessss bursting with taste! This appetizer is sure to please your vegan friends.
